Objective: The objective of the course is to collaborate to the development of the analytical capacity of graduate students from a global and holistic view of technical, socioeconomic and environmental aspects of the relationships among animal production, society and nature.

Program: Man and his influence on nature; Planetary boundaries; Livestock and environment; Global assessment of animal emissions and mitigation opportunities; Biogeochemical fluxes and balances of nitrogen and phosphorus; Efficiency in the use of nutrients; Animal welfare; Wicked problems and governance challenges; Socio-ecological analysis and resilience; and Socioeconomic metabolism.
